HOLY HOT. It has been hotter than hell this past weekend in Chicago. Oh, us Chicagoans, we are NEVER happy with the weather. If its freezing, we bitch, if it’s hot, we bitch more. It’s pretty much a fact that we love a perfect temperature of 78 degrees followed by a patio & cocktail in hand.

My boyfriend got his wisdom teeth out a couple of weeks ago, and it just so happened to be on a weekend where it was 95 degrees. The LAST thing we both wanted to do was sit in our stuffy apartment. So, we got out of the house and went to Mole de Mayo fest. If you don’t know what Mole de Mayo is, y’all are missing out! Alas, we were in the blazing heat enjoying delicious homemade mole dishes from various local restaurants with a Michelada in hand. My favorite green mole is from La Cebollita in Pilsen!  IT’S TO DIE FOR.

3 ways to beat the heat

I definitely wouldn’t have enjoyed this day as much if I didn’t plan my outfit the way that I did. It’s really easy to just throw on a pair of gym shorts & lose all motivation for “style” when it’s that hot. I GET IT. Let’s change that. Here are 3 tips on how to keep your style game strong even when it’s blazing outside:

Do not even try wearing your hair down… no point. Don’t waste the hour damaging your hair with a hot iron either. Instead, get playful & try out some crown braids or these fun Space Buns like I did! I still felt ‘cute’ & I didn’t have to constantly fuss with my hair while wiping the sweat off my forehead. 😉

My FAVORITE summer hairstyles are all ready for you on my Pinterest board, here!

Let your pits breathe!  Yes, that’s right, I’m talking about your armpits! When it’s hot AF out, the last thing I want to wear is a tight shirt, it only makes me sweat more. Who actually wants pit stains!?I absolutely love this grunge tank because it was only $5 at H&M & I get so much use out of it in the Summer. Plain & simple, it helps the pits breathe!

Here’s a couple of muscle tee’s that are my fave & super affordable:

1. Universal Thread: Target

2. H&M: ‘Fleek’ Tank

3. TJ-MAXX: ‘Peace’ Tank

Get on the Bandana bandwagon. Remember when we’d watch those old-time movies & men would use their “handkerchief” to wipe their sweat? Well, when it’s 95+ degrees out, us chicks could use one, too! Whether you are tying it around your neck for an accessory like I did or attaching it to the loophole of your shorts, this trending accessory can actually have some solid use!

Here are some of my favorite bandanas ranging from $2-$10!

1. Urban Outfitters

2. Universal Thread: Target

3. Michaels

There y’all have it. These are just a few tips to give you some style motivation when it’s hot as all hell! Never let the weather ruin your style capability!
