Us Chicagoans know all about transitional style. It’s that moment where it’s not cold enough to rock our bulky jackets but just warm enough to lightly layer. Ahh Chicago I love you, but you gotta let us brighten up our style soon.

This is a look that is the epitome of transitional style. It was 60 degrees, sunny, & the perfect look for a get together on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. I can’t even begin to describe how lightweight this outfit was compared to the outfits I’ve been rocking throughout this long Winter. The best part is, I didn’t have to go out & buy some spring pieces for this ONE day of good weather. I took pieces already in my closet that I’d normally wear in Fall/Winter & made them work for a Spring look!

These boots absolutely work for every season. You know tons of chicks will be wearing some over the knee boots with high waisted shorts at Coachella this weekend. I mean, am I right or am I right? The weather wasn’t quite ready for me to rock some open-toed heels so my favorite boots had to do.

Let’s talk about this dress. It is literally the perfect piece for when the warmer weather is almost near. I purchased it at TJMAXX for $20 & decided to knot the bottom to give it some dimension. I then belted it with my fave vintage belt to give it some shape!  Not wearing pants for the first time in months felt DAMN good.

I finished this look off with this gorgeous patterned kimono. How awesome is this orange color!? It really added a Spring style touch & was the only “coat” I needed. The funniest part, this kimono has been chillin’ in my closet all Winter long. I knew I would have a time where I was needing it, & thank god I trusted my style gut.;)

I challenge all of you to wait to go out & buy pieces for Spring…especially when you live in Chicago! First, see what you have in your closet, & always keep in mind that sometimes that warmer weather doesn’t last long. This means lots of your winter pieces will still work! You just have to get creative. And hey, showin’ a little leg never hurt anybody! 😉 Cheers!
