Single or not, Valentines day is all about appreciating the ones you love AND appreciating you. I think often times we stress out when it comes to picking out an outfit. We are all past those days where our parents would get us a valentines t-shirt from old navy. (Thankfully.) Us fashionistas are adults now, able to dress how we want & with what makes us feel a bit sexy. Thats just what I did. If you’ve got a man, he will love this, & if you don’t, all the single men at that V-DAY mixer you’re going to will too. But again. it’s also about dressing for YOU.
First, I started with this amaze balls wall that totally supported that v-day theme. The sun was shining & I was feeling super flirty in this drop waist dress. Don’t shy away from wearing black on V-DAY; adding some red heels plus those red lips added that flirty & celebratory touch.
I then added this metallic silver sequined blazer that was hiding in the back of my closet for years! It’s from Saks off 5th & it totally added a glam factor to my simple black dress.
Let’s be honest, if you’re living in Chicago- it may or may not be extremely chilly on that lovers day. So, I added a gorgeous faux silk scarf that I recently got at H&M for only $5! (Take advantage of H&M right now- their sales are amazing; especially in the accessories section!) Added some pearl earrings for that class factor & bounce off the metallic jacket perfectly!
Remember, this is your outfit, it’s important you feel comfortable. With that said, pairing some cute design tights or just sheer black tights are perfectly fine if you’re concerned about the weather. I will say, a little red wine will warm you right up (;
& there you have it. A sassy little outfit that he/she will love, but most importantly, YOU will love. Remember to take this time to remind everyone in your life how much you love them, & always remember to love yourself.
