City style is something very different than an everyday outfit. First, it requires some damn brain power? Why? Because if you live in a city, it’s important to choose an outfit that will last you throughout the many blocks that you will be walkin’ throughout the day. Two: you gotta keep comfortable but also look fab. So, to all my city chicks, here’s how to do it:
The day thankfully started with a trip to Pokeworks in the west loop for a delicious lunch with a fellow blogger boo, Lexi. Y’all should absolutely try this place. It’s so delicious and has so many different options of poke to choose from. After we finished, we headed to SOHO house to get some work done, but we couldn’t get there without doing a photo shoot first. 😉
Nothin’ like a wall reminding you to “flex your hustle”. This started my week off in a damn good way. I decided to go the relaxed route with my city style & throw on this amazing burnt yellow tee. I love the acid wash & see-through element, so I threw on a simple black bralette. (Confession: I can’t remember the last time I wore a real bra—-sorry, bralettes are just the way to go.)
Paired it with a fab choker & pendant necklace, both from my beloved TJ-MAXX, some sunnies, & a fab black hat for that city style element. I was comfortable, yet the outfit was truly effortless.
Finishing off my city style look was simple. I just love jeans…& I just LOVE jeans from Target. Yeah I said it! Look, I am living in a city where I am constantly running around, so being able to feel good in my jeans without breaking the bank on one pair is super important to me. These babies were only $20, & paired perfectly with my boots. That brings me to the best part…
These boots are just too damn good. If you follow me on the good ole’ gram, you’ll see I am loyal to these shoes. Scored them at Target for literally $18 & I constantly battle with the fact that I didn’t buy them in grey as well. (DAMMIT, CHLOE!!! LISTEN TO YOUR HEART!) I will say, these boots have made conquering my city style simple. They’re comfortable, chic, & literally go with any outfit. Click here to see how I paired them with a skirt!
That’s a wrap on my city style folks. Of course, you can spruce it up however you’d like. All you really need to do is put on what makes you feel comfortable yet confident. It’s easy for us to want to just wear sweatpants when walking around the city. I challenge you to have some comfy yet stylish staples in your closet for those busier days where sweatpants are not an option! Have a great weekend everyone!
