Anyone else have trouble hopping on the maxi skirt/maxi dress bandwagon this season because of their height? ME! I am a total short ass. I own it & I love it, but it sucks when sometimes all I wanna do in the summertime is wear a maxi & flow freely throughout the day. My solution? Knot that shit!
How rad is this skirt? The color is perfection for that first day of warm weather we had here in Chicago & it’s softer then ever. This skirt is Cynthia Rowley from TJ-MAXX and it was only $10. Can I get a hell to the yes?
Let’s get to knotting. So, us short chicks simply have trouble with anything maxi because it usually drags on the floor. I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to ruin a great hemline by letting it drag on the streets of Wrigleyville. I also don’t want to spend money to hem it. So, I knot it. Y’all, I seriously do this with every lengthy piece I have & it works! It’s also great because it makes us short chicks legs look a little bit longer & gives us the opportunity to show off our legs, too! My tip is while trying a piece like this on, knot it up real quick to make sure it feels right & isn’t constricting you. If it works, buy it & rock it all summer long.
& all you have left to do for this casual outfit, is accessorize a bit! I chose to accessorize with my Vince Camuto gold bangle, assorted bracelets, & my new Nanette Lepore watch that is the perfect dainty summer accessory! I topped the whole look off with a bright orange open shoulder top & a stellar choker that I scored for only $10 at TJ-MAXX. Got any other advice for us short chicks? Leave it in the comments below! Cheers & happy Monday!
