Happy Summer! A week long of sunny weather means it’s officially Summer, right? I was feeling a little “southern” inspired after I had just gotten back from Alabama this past week. It was perfect coming home to the same weather that the South was having- so I wanted to keep that southern comfort flowing. I thought, what is a southern look that is also currently trending??? Bandanas! DUH! Let’s take a look:
First off: bandanas are such an easy accessory to get ahold of AND you aren’t breaking the bank with this one. I picked one of these up when I wanted to wear it on my head for a cubs game (at Hobby Lobby for $2.99), & now, with the big hair that I have, I LOVE wearing it as a headband when I want my hair out of my face; or to dress up a messy bun!
I then decided to wear it as a neck piece! I am officially obsessed. It’s comfortable & I love how it adds a bright southern pop to my outfit. I paired it with a camo top to show that you really can pair it with any pattern. & of course it ain’t southern style without high waisted shorts & some booties(you could even do cowboy boots if you have them!)
& paired it with a plain crop top for a second look to show versatility. I really love how it adds a pop to any outfit. Oh and these shorts: I recently bought these vintage levis for $6 at Crossroads Trading Co. (If you’ve been following this blog: you know that Crossroads is my FAVE resale shop in Chicago) It really doesn’t get much better then that. I thought the two toned shorties were different & super fun for the summer.
I encourage you all to experiment with neck scarves and/or bandanas! They are perfect for the summer & you can get them at any craft store. OR go vintage & find a neck scarf that is one of kind. Neck ties are the new statement piece.
& that’s a wrap, literally. (;
