5 days ‘till Christmas & I’m honored to say I finally got to participate in my first Ugly Christmas Sweater party! It was a blast, filled with boozy hot cocoa & handcrafted lattes by the fabulous Kat, (Check out her marshmallow company HERE). I wanted to think outside the box & rock a sweater with a casual but fashionable outfit. Yes, there is a rule- you must wear an ‘ugly’ Christmas sweater- but I struggled to find the rule about still keeping it fashionable. Let’s get down to business:
There I was in Target, panicking. It’s actually a lot harder to find an ugly x-mas sweater these days that isn’t from your mom’s closet back in the 70’s. Alas, there she was. Bright green with a saying that fit my personality to a tee-“ HAPPY HOLLA-DAYS”. Even better, I found it in the little boys section for only $17. I picked out a large for a looser fit, & went on my way.
I styled it up with my comfy overalls & some booties to fancy it up a tad. (If you don’t own a pair of overalls, all you need are some boyfriend jeans to give that casual feel- OR take the fancy route & add a flirty tutu with some stilettos- GET CREATIVE Y’ALL.)
Of course, I added that red holiday lip & some statement earrings for some sass. Threw those shades on, & I was ready to have all the boozy hot cocoa I could stomach. For all of you who cringe when you get that ugly x-mas sweater invite, fear no more. Take this opportunity to wow people with your sick fashion sense & creativity.
